I chose to research about Anesthesiologists because I’ve heard my mom talk about how my neighbor is an Anesthesiologist, but I have never quite known what exactly they do. I knew that they gave anesthetics to surgical patients, but I didn’t know they monitor the patient during and after surgery.

There are some positive and some negative aspects . One negative aspect is that you have to keep studying anesthetics even after you’re done with school because new medicines and technologies keep being invented. On the other hand, you don’t just do the same thing over and over again, but you get to learn about new developments in Anesthesiology. Another negative is that the average work schedule for an Anesthesiologist is 60 hours a week which can be very difficult to cover. However, the positive of this is the high salary they get paid.
