How to Stop Pain From Your Braces
These are methods on how to reduce the pain from new braces.
So you just got new braces, GREAT! sure the first day might have been pretty easy, occasionally having to put on wax or sucking on ice cubes( that helps a big deal) but I’m sorry to say that this is not the last of it.
The Next Morning:
You wake finding your hole moth is numb from fiddling with your braces the present day.
There’s a funny taste in your mouth, this is from some left over glue that the dentist didn’t scrape of, but don’t worry its perfectly normal.
Then curiosity wins you over and you tug at a tooth with your tongue.
OUCH! For those of you who have never had braces its like having small un-see able people forever trying to rip your teeth out!
But don’t worry there is a few things that will help.
- Icy cold water swished around the mouth slowly is a godsend! it cool en flamed gums and helps remove small amounts of left over food in your braces.
- Flossing and cleaning properly, if you do this right you will feel less pain and a clean healthy mouth full of metal!
- NO CHEWING! i suggest only eating either yogurt, banana or custard for a while. Please do your self a favour and don’t chew it may cause half an hour of pain afterwards.
- Don’t play with them! just leave your braces alone and let them do there thing.
- Mouthwash, i don’t know why but this really does help allot.
- Try sucking on an ice cube but DO NOT CHEW! this cools the whole mouth and has a sought of numbing effect please do try it!
I hope all this helps, and don’t worry! your not alone out there! most of us had to go and get that big re-tractor thing jammed in our lips! and the pain is only bad on the second day. It gets much better from there on in!
