Natural Facial Enhancers

With the rising cost of personal care products and most items we want for a comfortable life, many of us are looking for alternatives that will save us money. I have used alternative skin care preparations that I make at home for many years and they cost me almost nothing because most of the ingredients are already in the kitchen. I mix up small amounts because a fresh batch can be mixed in a few minutes and last for a few weeks.

One of the best facial cleansers I have found is Oatmeal so let’s start with the advantages of Oatmeal mixed with Egg Whites and Milk for one’s skin.

Oatmeal is one of nature’s finest cleansers. It is a common household commodity and wonderful for our skin. Many leading dermatologists now recommend Oatmeal baths for relieving a number of skin conditions. Using it as a regular part of your skin care routine can clear your skin of blackheads, blemishes and excessive oil. It removes old, dead skin leaving your complexion rosy and smooth.

Egg whites are known to instantly tighten and tone the skin. Milk is another natural wonder that refreshes and softens the skin. Milk body wash and bath products have become very popular in recent years due to the excellent rejuvenating from using milk on the skin.

It is very easy to make an Oatmeal Cleanser at home by simply mixing a few tablespoons of Oatmeal with an Egg white and enough Milk to make a paste that can be stored in the refrigerator.

If the mixture thickens then add a little more milk. I use it daily with excellent results and often add honey for more healing and rejuvenating properties.

If Acne is a problem, you may want to include acne fighting herbs to the Oatmeal Cleanser. After trying many over the counter remedies for Acne when my son was a teenager, I turned to my herbal knowledge and came up with these additional herbs. After one weeks use, twice daily, my son’s complexion was greatly improved. After four months use and years of non-use, he remains acne free.

For Acne, boil and steep a little Burdock Root with Chamomile Tea in enough water to cover for 15 minutes. Strain the tea and mix the tea with the oatmeal cleanser, let it soak up the liquid and add more oatmeal if need be to thicken into a paste that is spreadable, add a tablespoon of honey and mix well. To apply, wet your face with warm water and massage cleanser on onto your face and throat using fingertips in a circular motion then rinse well with warm water. Pay attention that you do not get cleanser in the eyes.

I grant you, it isn’t to get a teenager to give it a try, but if they will for one week, they will be surprised. With continued use the acne will clear up and simply go away.

Another excellent natural skin enhancer mixture is a Lemon Juice and Vinegar Skin Toner. Traditionally skin toners and fresheners are used to close pores after cleansing and encourage circulation to awaken the skin. A Lemon Vinegar Toner helps to restore the ph balance and natural acidity. It assists with clearing up rough and blemish skin. It aids in making the skin soft and smooth when used after an Oatmeal facial.

To make a Lemon Vinegar skin toner at home, mix equal parts lemon juice and vinegar with eight parts of water. The use it on cotton balls after washing. Be careful not to get in the eyes. No need to refrigerate. Enjoy!

  1. I thank you for this information..with kids everything helps.

  2. I loved the information I am always looking for great ideas on how to clean up my skin but what is Burdock Root? I never heard of that before. Where can you find it? Thanks.

  3. Does the oatmeal have to be cooked, or would it be less affective if you cook it first?
