Tips to Keep the Mosquitoes Out!

A handful of tips to stop infestations or getting bitten by that annoying pest.

If you want to prevent mosquitoes from infesting around or inside your home or even avoiding any itchy bug bites, then you should read on, in the helpful guide.

Tip number one to avoid mosquito bites are to stay indoors when mosquitoes are active which are during dawn and dusk.

An obvious tip is to wear clothing that covers most of your body.

Be careful with those mosquito repellents and be sure to always follow the directions on the back of a can, especially for children and be sure to wash it off when you go indoors.

Look out for loose doors or window screens and repair them quickly because mosquitoes can easily enter through those small openings.

Mosquito netting is very helpful and if you have a small baby in a stroller, you should put a mosquito net on it if your going outside for a walk.

If you have a lawn, then keep your grass trimmed and shrubs trimmed because mosquitoes usually rest in the grass or shrubs.

To stop an infestation before it happens, you should make sure your garbage cans have lids over them and small containers shouldn’t be out in the open for any mosquito to breed in, so make sure they’re sealed or disposed of.

All mosquitoes need water to survive so you must maintain your swimming pool (if you have one) at the proper chlorine level to kill off mosquitoes.

Any places in/around your home that holds small pockets of water should be emptied because it’s a perfect place for reproducing.

Old tires must be brought to an automotive store to be thrown away because mosquitoes love to breed in old tires.

I do not suggest using those bug zappers or something that electrocutes any insect because they really don’t do much good or kill a significant amount of mosquitoes and they could kill helpful insects such as ladybugs or something.

If you have a water tank then I have two ways to prevent mosquitoes from going and laying eggs in them. First you could use two teaspoons of kerosene because it floats on top of the water and is even safe enough to drink but I really suggest not drinking that water and secondly you could just put a mosquito netting of nylon (preferably) over the net because it will take the shape of the water tank.
