Aspirin: What is It Really Good for?

We all know that an aspirin a day can ward off heart attacks, but did you know those little white pills have so many more uses?

For instance, let’s say you are running late for work and your car battery is dead.  Simply drop two aspirin tablets into the battery.  The acid in the pill will react with the battery acid to provide enough of a charge to start the vehicle.

Need to fill small pin holes in the drywall?  Mash up a few aspirin with enough water to make a paste and use like spackle to fill tiny holes.

Think your favorite white summer shirt is ruined due to sweat stains?  Dissolve a few aspirin in a bit of water then rub into the stain. Leave it on overnight then wash in hot water.  Voila! White again.

Is your blonde hair or highlights turning green from too many trips to the pool?  Mash one aspirin and add to your shampoo.  The acid in the aspirin will dissolve the chlorine build-up.

Are the weather changes leaving you with a dry, scratchy throat?  Dissolve an aspirin in a glass of warm water and gargle for 10-15 seconds.

Your summer blooms are beautiful but they attract the bees and one of them stung you?  Make a paste with aspirin and water and rub into the affected area.

Summer has left you with greasy skin?  Make a paste with two aspirin and water and use as a facial mask.  Leave on for 10-15 minutes then rinse with cool water.  The paste can also be left on overnight for spot treatment of blemishes.

The warm weather has played havoc on your feet?  Mix five crushed aspirin with one tablespoon of lemon juice and rub into calluses.  Cover with a plastic grocery bag and leave on for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse with warm water.

Want to prolong the life of those beautiful roses from you sweetie?  Drop an aspirin into the vase.

Has the shaving cream can left ugly rust spots on your shower?  Wet the area and crush and aspirin or two.  Sprinkle the powder onto the rust spot and let sit for 10 minutes before wiping away with a damp sponge.
