We all want to be happy, but this is something very personal. Some people believe that happy is a process, whereas, some people see it as an outcome. No matter which idea you buy, there must be some inputs, causes or stimulation. If we can control the source, we will have a higher opportunity of being happy most of the time.

Let yourself be the happy source.

It is simple to say in words, but difficult to put into action. Where shall we start? I would suggest a successive contribution of efforts so that you can count your blessings later on.

Where to start being happy?

If you have no idea where to start making yourself happy, please seek help from the “what” questions. Be frank to yourself. What things can make you happy? What do you like? What is easy for you to do?

If you still have no or not many ideas on what to do, please do not feel disappointed. Participate in the activity below. It may help you have a journey of self-discovery and find the happy source.

A favorite a day makes your day.

What you see below is a checklist of your favorites for every month. Write down your sincere answer at the end of each line. Do not rush. Focus on one question and answer each day. Look around, explore, think, feel and enjoy. When you complete a full round for a month, you should have 30 or 31 favorites.

What are your favorites?

1. Song
2. Movie
3. Book
4. Game
5. Color
6. Exercise
7. Home decoration / renovation
8. Food
9. Drink
10. Clothing
11. Flower
12. Animal
13. Restaurant
14. Shopping mall
15. Volunteer work
16. TV shows
17. A piece of news
18. Joke
19. Dance
20. Quote from celebrity
21. Smell
22. Taste
23. Hairstyle
24. Toy
25. Topic for discussion
26. Recipe
27. Hobby
28. One day tour
29. Gathering place
30. Sports to watch
31. Exhibition

Be active in participation.

Do not just give the answers in words. Enjoy the related activities. For example, if your answer for color is blue, look for the blue sky or anything in blue that is impressive and enjoy the beauty.

What to do after completing the first round?

Reuse the checklist and continue to create your blessings. Go on exploring and surprise yourself. If the answer for a particular favorite is the same for every month and you feel bored, edit the checklist to exchange with new happy source.

Do not throw away the answered checklists. When you feel depressed, refer to all your checklists and count the blessings. They are the strong proofs that you have the ability to love something and can always take actions to make yourself better off.

Waste no more time on self-doubt. Create and count your blessings to make yourself happy from now on. Good luck to everyone and enjoy.
