Depression
Does depression control you or do you control depression?
Are you settling for living your life the way you have been living it because you are afraid of being who you really are as opposed to be someone you are not but have to be because it is what you know? It takes a strong person to make the move necessary to change and choose to be something better. Change is scary and most individuals who are depressed are comfortable being depressed.
Do you think that depression controls the individual or do you think the individuals control the depression? I think we all control everything. We all go through so many bad things through life. We all fall and we all get back up. Some of us take longer to get back up and unfortunately some choose to stay down because they are afraid of failing. The point is that we have to choose to get back up. Just like when we go out to eat, we try to decide on the restaurants, we have a few options to choose from. Think of it like this, if you are a seafood fanatic, we can have options like Red Lobster, Joe’s Crab Shack, or Bob Chins. One of these restaurants has better quality food then the other two, and one is more affordable than the others. We have to weigh our options right? We are going to go eat where we can afford the luxury or good quality and quantity for a good price. Sometimes though, we make sacrifices and we choose to eat somewhere affordable because we may be short on money. Other times we may choose where to eat based on how much time we may have, location, number of people going and so on and so forth.
It is the same thing with your emotions. Why would anyone choose to go out to ‘eat’ at depressed when they can have a good ‘dinner’ at happy or even enjoy their time ‘out’ at tomorrow’s another day? It takes more effort to frown than it does to smile. If you are down, get yourself back up. If you need help getting up ask for it and you will be helped. You are not alone. You are alone only if you choose to be. Be strong and have a good time out at ‘Smile’ and forget about wasting any more time at ‘Frown’.
