Epilepsy is Just a Condition and Not a Disease
Epilepsy afflicted people are very special, and are specially blessed by God.
Epilepsy is a problem affecting the brain, symbolized by recurring and uncontrolled seizures. Some of the symptoms of epilepsy are uncontrolled movements of the body, disorientation or confusion, sudden fear, or loss of consciousness. Epilepsy may occur due to a head injury, stroke, brain tumor, lead poisoning, genetic conditions, or severe infections like encephalitis.
Epilepsy is just a condition and not a disease. Epilepsy is not a contagious condition.
Epilepsy has got nothing to do with “mental derangement” or “mental illness” like some societies of the world tends to believe!
Rather the epilepsy afflicted people are very special, and are specially blessed by God! Most of them are outstanding in at least one field or the other, especially in the creativity field! If not outstanding, at least they shine through in one area or the other, compared to the rest of their contemporaries!
The most famous painters, poets, writers, speakers, rulers, playwrights, actors, scientists, musicians and philosophers were blessed with Epilepsy. Just read the names of some of the people who were afflicted with Epilepsy!
- Napoleon Bonaparte-French emperor
- Alfred Nobel-Swedish chemist
- Alexander the great – the Ancient Greek King
- Socrates-Greek philosopher
- Sir Isaac Newton – the great Scientist
- Vincent van Gogh-Famous Dutch painter
- Julius Caeser-Roman emperor
- Lord Byron-English poet
- Agatha Christie – English crime fiction writer
- Michelangelo – The most renowned sculptures of all times.
- Leonardo Da Vinci – The finest painter, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer and a botanist!
The list goes on …
Epilepsy afflicted people are generally highly sensitive people and thus, are the most suitable for the creative arts and sciences! Of course, epilepsy is an inconvenience, as the afflicted person does not know when and where he/she shall get stroked by the seizures.
The seizure does not seek out an appointment with the afflicted person, before putting in on an appearance, which is a real hindrance in the daily life! Unexpectedly things come to a halt for a few minutes or for a few hours. Then again, the things goes back to normal! Life goes on!
The society should learn to treat the epilepsy afflicted person in the most normal way, because such people are the contributors to the growth, culture, economy, arts and sciences, education and entertainment of the society. They are rather contributors in the wide spectrum of all the segments of the society as such!
Let’s learn to respect people without passing judgments on the basis of rumors, gossips, the stories appearing in the media and the works! If at all anyone deserves to be respected for their stupendous talents they are the people with the epilepsy condition!

Blessed by God? Have you gone mental? Epilepsy is a state in which there is an increased release of stimulatory neurotransmitters in the brain and has nothing to do with God, which by the way, does not even exist. So if you write articles on science, try and make them scientific!

Thanks Tracy!
@ Tina: Why so much of anger? An epilepsy person is a blessed person. I standby what I have written. There may be different kinds of epilepsy problems. What I have written is what I know of due to personal encounter for decades together!
What is science? An aspect of science is proved, until some onelse comes and prove otherwise! That is science!!!
Before writing something on the public platform, examine your words. Blessings!

Epilepsy is a symptom of previous conditions, so it is not a desease, it is the consequence of deseases, of course there is a good side of this condition, and it is the hyperactivity of the brain that allows the patient to do more and better.
I agree with you that people do badly when judge the condition, I agree with you when you say that there is a brigth sigth of this condition, on the other hand, it is still a suffering, you know?
I liked the article, it is well done and easy to understand, thank you for sharing, my claps for your work
