Running Barefoot Has Benefits?
Running barefoot has benefits?
1.Helps to develop better perception of the contact with the ground, which allows us to interact with support more efficiently, place the body weight on the foot more precisely; have better timing of the contact with the ground. You’ll probably start landing more on your forefoot rather than on your heal.
2.Develops muscle strength, particularly in those groups of muscles of the feet, and related muscles of the legs and hips, which are out of use when we are in shoes. I recommend stretching plenty and building up slowly as to not pull any muscles.
3.Helps to release psychological stress through the reduction of electricity charges in the body, which can now serve as a kind of lightning rod. Wow..that’s kind of cool! A friend wrote me this, “During life activity our body accumulates positive electrical charge, as any biological body. With excessive physical, emotional and mental work this charging could be over limits which body cold handle to keep normal electrical activity. Then we need to discharge our body to allow our electrical activity back to normal. For this matter running barefoot on a ground allows to release excessive polarity and return body’s electrical activity to normal, and therefore our emotional and mental condition as well. Shoes, having rubber sole, as an electrical insulator, do not allow this discharge happened. This cause delayed psychological break down and some another illnesses.”
4.Helps to improve the body temperature regulation due to the adaptation to the lower outside temperature. Who woulda thunk it?
Where should you barefoot run? Grass and Beach! Please don’t try this on gravel, ya dumb-ass.

And don’t run with scissors, even if you’re barefoot.

Good to know. However, I can barely stand to walk on the floor without slippers, so I don’t think I would be able to run without shoes.

I’ve really never thought about number 3, and I’ve been a barefoot person for years!
And hey, after your feet toughen up a little you will definitely be able to run on gravel barefoot(I sprinted half a mile every week day during the non-snowy months, as part of my exercise program).
Broken glass has nothing on my feet! I’ve stepped on sharp jagged metal pieces only to have them stick to my calloused feet
. Funny how thistles still manage to cause me some problems though; they get in the non calloused parts of my feet, like between the toes XD
Awesome article. Barefoot is the best!

Good timing. I’ve been reading about how some people think that running shoes are really doing some harm.
I wonder if I have the nerve to try this – you’re supposed to work up to it gradually, but enjoy the benefits when you’ve acomplished it.
Takes some doing!

I could always run faster barefooted than with shoes on when i was a kid. I believe that you do develope muscles in your feet by running barefooted, that never develope when wearing shoes. This is the reason that the runners from Kenya are so good, is because they run barefooted most of their early lives. Well done friend.

When I was at primary school, we used to do PE barefoot on the grass in the summer – I had forgotten how good it feels
