Symptoms and Signs of Poorly Managed Stress
About the symptoms and signs of poorly managed stress. There is a possibility for stressed individuals to engage in unhealthy behaviors like drug or alcohol abuse and excessive smoking.
Excess stress can bare itself in a mixture of behavioral, emotional and physical symptoms. The signs and symptoms of stress differ particularly among different persons. Among the common somatic symptoms that are frequently experienced by most individuals who are going through excess stress include muscle tension, sleep disturbances, headache, fatigue and gastrointestinal disturbances. And among the behavioral and emotional symptoms which can come with excess stress include anxiety, changes in eating habits (overeating), nervousness, loss of energy or enthusiasm and sudden mood changes. However, none of these symptoms or signs means for sure that there’s a high stress level since all of these signs or symptoms can possibly be caused by other psychological or medical conditions.
According to some studies, individuals who are under stress are most likely to have a tendency to take on in unhealthy behaviors like alcohol and drug abuse and cigarette smoking, than those less-stressed individuals. And once these stressed individuals get engaged in unhealthy behaviors, the severity of stress related symptoms can further increase, leading to a spiteful cycle of symptoms as well as unhealthy behaviors.
The occurrence of stress is predominantly individualized. What constitutes irresistible stress for an individual may not be assumed as stress by another. Equally, the signs and symptoms of stress that has been poorly managed will be quite different for each individual.
