Stress has become an inevitable part of our lives. We seems to be losing control over situations which in return is bringing not only mental disturbances but is effecting our physical body as well. Then how to we manage stress.
Somebody very rightly said “Unless we have a stress-free mind and a violence-free society, we cannot achieve world Peace.”
Stress has become an inevitable part of our lives. We seems to be losing control over situations which in return is bringing not only mental disturbances but is effecting our physical body as well. Then how to we manage stress. So after doing a lot of research I found that one thing was common in all and that was to practice some breathing techniques. I feel powerful breathing techniques can transform our life.
A breath is the link between the mind and the body as it was found by European researchers. Every emotion has a distinct breathing pattern. For example if you are angry your breath is short and quick and if you are sad it is long and deep. So the secret is that we can use breath as a tool to influence our emotions.
Breathing in a particular way can induce a corresponding emotion. So instead of being overwhelmed by our emotions, we can transform those using specific breathing techniques. Through breathing techniques we can learn to skillfully use the breath to change the way we feel, hence releasing negative emotions that cause stress, such as anger, anxiety, depression and worry, leaving the mind completely happy, relaxed, and energized. Which also means living a healthier, more productive life with greater emotional well-being?
Breath in a particular pattern can harmonizes the whole system by cleansing daily accumulated stress. Studies also show that Prolactin – a well being hormone -significantly increases if a right pattern of breathing technique is followed.
Villagers, corporate employees, housewives, teenagers, trauma victims, soldiers, leaders in business to government officials, prisoners, factory workers, university students and everyone in between, across all continents, all bear testimony to the numerous and varied benefited through breathing technique.
It is well known that emotional well being is directly related to productivity, concentration, learning ability, and success.
If there are those who can undergo stress then it also means there are some who have survived through their share of stress just by paying a little attention to their breathing.
