You Say He Never Listens?
Maybe you are right and maybe he has Adult ADD and doesn’t know it?
Okay, here’s the thing. Your husband or boyfriend acts like he forgets everything you tell him. He’s all over the place with beginning projects but never manages to finish them. He loses track of keys, doesn’t follow through with appointments and is frequently late. Well, this is a lot of us on a bad day. But if your guy has adult ADD he probably has been like this ever since he was a kid. Also he may be really creative and able also to really focus and succeed in some very particular ways.
If you think this is a problem, for you and for him, have him go online and find an ADD/ADHD symptom survey and take it. Then follow through by talking to his doctor if the survey suggests he might fit this model of behavior. This is a medical condition that can be helped with medication. He is not lazy, or stupid or insensitive, just maybe compromised with an lack of ability to attend to information.
