Young Women and Their Career Aspirations – Part One

Young women’s career aspirations: their interests, abilities and personality.

Ilona Iloilihelsunshi is 21 years old. She is considering becoming a psychologist.
She enjoys working directly with people to help them overcome problems.
She does not enjoy solving theoretical problems.
She  enjoys classes that focus on experimental design.
Math is not her favorite subject, but she is okay with numbers.
She enjoys working to solve practical, real-world problems. She likes to see her work being put to practical use.
Maybe she would enjoy working with clients in a doctor’s office, hospital, private practice, academic setting or mental health clinic or mental health clinic, but she thinks that it depends on the nature of the job.
She thinks that earning a high salary is important to her.
She is willing to spend 4 years in school in order to work in a psychology profession.
She thinks that she is able to deal with high stress situations with people who may be psychologically or emotionally unstable.
She would enjoy working with children, with individual students and groups of students to deal with behavioral problems, academic difficulties, disabilities, and other issues.

Jacinda Jaceht is 22 years old. She does not enjoy working directly with people to help them overcome problems.
She sometimes enjoys solving theoretical problems.
She somewhat enjoys classes that focus on experimental design.
She  enjoys working with numbers.
She does not enjoy working to solve practical, real-world problems. She prefers to focus on theoretical problems and debates.
She would not like to work directly with clients in a doctor’s office, hospital or mental health clinic.
She thinks that earning a high salary is somewhat important to her,  but work satisfaction is also important.
She thinks that she is not able to deal with high stress situations with people who may be psychologically or emotionally unstable.
She does not mind working with children, but she prefers to work with adults.
She would like to work in a wide variety of settings including colleges, universities, research centers.
