Agave Nectar: Miracle Food
Agave nectar is perhaps the best alternative to sugar, for these reasons.
Agave Nectar is a honey like substance collected from the agave plant native to Mexico. It is the perfect sugar substitute for many reasons.
Agave Nectar is 1 1/4 times as sweet as sugar so you need less of it and it has a much lower glycemic index than that of sugar. This means that it is absorbed into the blood stream much slower. Because of that, when you eat it your blood sugar won’t spike so you won’t get a sugar rush, and you won’t have a crash after.
Agave nectar is also all natural. There are no chemicals or anything in it, just pure agave. Also, unlike sugar it is not filtered through charred bones or anything like that so vegans can eat it.
You can also substitute it for sugar in any recipe. Put in about 1/3 of the amount of sugar it calls for, just use agave nectar. So if it calls for 3 cups of sugar use one cup of agave nectar. Also you have to reduce he liquids in the recipe a little or else it will be too wet.
Both of these reasons along with many others make it perfect. Diabectics can eat it without worrying about blood sugar, vegans can eat it and it is way more healthy than sugar.
