Vegetarianism definitely has many health benefits. According to a survey conducted in 2002, the most ordinary reason that Americans decide not to consume chicken is to develop their health.

On a balanced vegetarian diet, high energy levels, many people experience weight loss and a lesser amount of risk of toxicity issues like food poisoning, parasites and more that have associated with consumption of meat.
A vegetarian diet has distinguished from an omnivorous diet by its content of dry beans and lentils. These take the position of meat and fish as the main basis of protein. There are so various kinds of beans you can prefer from – kidney, Lima, Great Northern, garbanzo, soy beans, pinto, cranberry, navy, and black-eyed peas. Tofu and soy bean curd can use in dips and spreads, or stir-fried vegetables or served with pasta.
Longer and happy average life expectancy
One of the best-known benefits of vegetarianism is, however, not the low chance of having a heart attack, but the longer life expectancy. Vegetarians, on average, live longer than the non-vegetarian people do.

Cancer Protection
Vegetarian diets help in cancer control. Over two hundred studies have discovered that a regular eating of fruits and vegetables provides major protection against cancer at many sites. People who eat higher amounts of fruits and vegetables have about one-half the danger of cancer.

Protection from Heart Disease
Standard fruit and vegetable eating reduces the danger of ischemic heart disease. A fresh review of 47,000 Italians initiate that persons in the highest fertile of vegetable consumption had a 21and 11% reduced risk of myocardial infarction and angina, respectively, compared with those in the lowest fertile of vegetable consumption.
Stroke and Diabetes Protection
Result from two prospective reviews supports a shielding connection between fruit and vegetable eating and risk of ischemic stroke. Calciferous and green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits were the most protecting.
Lower Body Mass Index
As most vegetarian diets are low-fat ones (average vegetarian eats 25% fat less than a typical meat-eater), they usually effect in the lower Body Mass Index of an average vegetarian person.
This is most likely the most noticeable of all benefits of vegetarianism and the major cause for many people to turn into a vegetarian.

A good article Raman,
I went vegetarian over eight years ago and although I admit I sometimes like the smell of some of the foods, I prefer the taste of vegetables, salads, fruit.
Althese can be made interesting with herbs, spices and creams and sauces.

I wish I could return to a vegetarian diet, but I now suffer with IBS and most vegetables make me ill. I had so much more energy when I was a vegetarian, and felt so much healthier in general. Great topic.

Great article!! I am 80% vegetarian and always have been. I once went to the doctor and they did a blood test. Afterward the nurse asked me if I took alot of vitamins. I said, “No, why?” She said I had a high vitamin content in my blood.
