Bladder Battle Foods

A nice little article for our more elderly people who’s bladder isn’t what it used to be. Or just people with a bladder problem of any age!

If you have a bladder problem, you know what I mean. There are just some foods you cannot have.  Well, I’m here to give you a list of those foods and nice alternatives.

Foods to avoid:

1. Chocolate! Yes chocolate! No exceptions. Especially not Dark Chocolate! Chocolate is made with caffeine, and when you gotta go… Caffeine does not help.

Luckily, you can still have white chocolate, as long as it only has cocoa butter and not any other cocoa. Since cocoa butter has no caffeine.  Nothing really makes up for a lose of chocolate… but you can attempt with other items, like caramel or peanut butter items.

2.NO coffee or energy drinks! They include a lot of caffeine! Luckily, there is an alternative! Smoothies, they are healthier and give you a boost of energy just like the other drinks. Without the yellow teeth or headache.

3.Tea and soda.  Not all soda’s. There are exceptions. Like grape, orange, cream, and root beer.  Mountain dew and sprite, unless stated on the can is not caffeine free.  Tea has more caffeine then coffee, so avoid that.  If you want something else with a nice taste juice will do, especially something mixed with cranberry juice. Like orange juice and cranberry juice.

4. Lastly, don’t have too many high acid food like tomatoes, and don’t drink less water! If you don’t drink enough water it makes your bladder more agitated due to dehydration.
