A little information about calories, what they are and how many you should be consuming…

The number of calories you require can vary wildly, depending on your metabolism and also how physically active you are! If you are the kind of person who, just by smelling a piece of pizza can put 10 pounds on, then you daily intake of calories should stay around 200 for men and 1500 for women. You body mass can also effect this: More calories are naturally suited for bigger people, and fewer calories for smaller people. If you are the type of person who can eat without putting on a single pound then you should consider increasing your daily calorie intake by 1000-2000 calories, maybe a little less for women! Also take into consideration, the more muscle you have the more calories you need to make them function! The bad fats you should avoid are saturated fat and trans fat. Somebody on a 2000 calorie diet should consume less than20 grams of saturated fat each day! Trans fat can and should be avoided all together! The only good fats are the plain fat. Which you should try to eat about 30% of your calories in, and poly- and monounsaturated fats.
