Cholesterol- What It is and How to Get Rid of It

Time to eat healthy, exercise and take some stating to get that cholesterol off!

Is your cholesterol at 230 mg/dL and you still don’t know what the heck it is? Well, cholesterol is a fat that goes through your bloodstream. The good thing it does is it makes cells. The bad thing it does is it may clog your arteries and increase your chance of having a heart-attack or stroke.

Now cholesterol doesn’t always come from foods. It also comes from your family history. Now cholesterol comes from Saturated fats that are in many foods. Eggs, milk, pork, and many others. And if someone in your family has high cholesterol then that might be your cause.

The ways to get cholesterol to go away are exercise and eating less fatty foods. The best types of exercises are the ones that include the biggest muscles in your body; your legs. So running, biking, roller-blading, hockey, tennis, basketball and soccer would be very good. The way that works is, the more you use your heart, and the more good cholesterol comes in. Good cholesterol actually comes in and swipes the bad cholesterol away. Some foods you can eat to lower the bar are, lean meats, fish, poultry, dry beans, dry peas, low fat or skim milk. If you really want it to go down, take statins.

Now if you do all this and maybe more you should get your cholesterol down by at least 15%. Please, if you have any questions or comments write one.

  5. I have been told my count is 599, i had a check at Tesco.
    I have made an apointment with my doctor but the earliest i could get was 3 weeks time. So is there any thing i can do in the meantime to help reduce?
