Could Eating Raw Food be The Key to Better Nutrition and Health?

Find out how eating more raw fruit and vegetables could be the key to better health and nutrion.

The process of cooking removes many vitamins and nutrients from our food. Eating nutritious raw fruit and vegetables solves that problem, and allows you to get the full benefits of your food. Your body gets all it needs to function properly, feels more satisfied and helps to make you feel good. There is no doubt that a raw carrot has more nutrition than a cooked one, and added to that the fiber in it isn’t destroyed, and this aids with digestion.

Have you noticed how widespread digestive problems are these day? One of the reasons for this is the amount of processed foods we eat. Cooking and processing foods alters their chemical make-up and can make certain foods harder to digest. Our bodies are not designed to eat much of the food we eat today. The high water, high fiber content of fresh raw foods aid digestion and helps to eliminate problems like constipation. Added to that, they also help with cell repair and the circulatory system. Blood flow is increased to each and every cell in the body. This enhancement of blood flow is significant for two reasons: blood delivers nutrients and oxygen to living cells, and carries away their toxic metabolites.

Obesity is a major problem in the western world. It is reckoned that the diet industry is actually more profitable than the oil industry. Why is obesity a growing problem? Well. One of the reasons is down to the food we eat. Not just the quantity, but also the quality. Many of us crave food, it has become like an addiction, but why is this? One of the reasons for it is because, although we eat much, we eat the wrong things and our bodies are left craving for the right nutrients. This causes us to eat more food so we eat more of the wrong type, the body is left craving and so the circle continues. Eating the right nutritious foods can help to break this cycle.

Eating raw food increases your metabolism. Digesting raw food uses more energy than digesting cooked or processed food. This is a healthy process. Rather than spending energy on eliminating toxins produced by eating cooked and processed foods, the energy is used instead to feed every cell, sending vitamins, enzymes, fluids and oxygen to make your body the efficient machine it was always intended to be.

Start eating more raw foods and you should soon start to feel the benefits. Your digestion will be better, your body will function more efficiently and your food cravings will cease. This is because your body and brain will no longer be starving for the nutrients they need. A starving brain will trigger the cravings that make you want overeat. The brain and the rest of your body don’t need quantity; what they need is quality.
