What is Cranberry Seed Oil?
By cold pressing cranberry seeds, cranberry oil is extracted.
Nutrients
Cranberry seed oil is rich in tocotrienols and tocopherols which are the two groups of molecules that make up Vitamin E as well as other important antioxidants. Studies have found that this oil contains the highest amount of tocotrienols than that found in any other vegetable oil.
Omega 3, 6, and 9 essential fatty acids, not found in any other oil, are also unique to cranberry seed oil. It is rich in Vitamin A and has a very stable shelf life.
Skin moisturizer
Because cranberry seed oil penetrates the skin easily, it is highly nourishing and moisturizing choice, leaving a light, non-greasy feeling and is widely used in anti-aging beauty products.
Tocotrienols have also been found to effectively protect the harmful effects of sunlight. It is also used in lip balm, lotions, and a wide assortment of moisturizing creams.
Complexion healing benefits
If you’re suffering from itchy, irritated skin, cranberry seed oil is a great remedy. It also helps relieve blemish complexions.
Hair health
Cranberry seed oil is being included in more and more hair care products to strengthen, moisturize and heal the scalp and hair.

What a brilliant article! There’s so much in there that I didn’t know. I know several doctors over here in the UK suggest that women ‘of a certain age’ benefit from cranberry juice and I often have a glass myself but I hadn’t realised what other wonderful things the cranberry was capable of! I’m hoping next year to grow my own Goji berry bush but I might just add a cranberry to my garden centre shopping list too.

is it a good thing to take cranberry extract supplements?

Dear Tom,

While I’m not a doctor, I have taken cranberry supplements before, but if you’re worried or concerned this caution is always good to follow:
“Mandatory FDA Disclaimer: The claims made on the products on this website have not been approved by the FDA. As always, consult with your physician prior to starting any medication, taking any supplement or otherwise changing your diet.”
Which is on the very bottom of the link above in this comment.
Blessings.
Sincerely,
-Liane Schmidt.
