Do You Have Intestinal Gas?
Everyone produces gas in their colon. However, some people produce an excessive amount of gas that bothers them throughout the day. In this article I would like to present ways to avoid gas(flatus).
What to do about excessive gas:
While potentially embarrassing and certainly annoying, excess intestinal gas is not a serious problem. Some people find that the condition improves when they avoid certain “gassy”foods, especially beans and milk. The over-the-counter remedies rarely are effective.
What foods cause intestinal gas?
Foods that may cause excessive gas include peas and beans, wheat , oats, bran, brussel sprouts, cabbage, corn and rutabagas.People who are deficient in the digestive enzyme lactase also may have problems with mike products. Intestinal gas can be improved as a part of a high-fiber diet and with use of bulk formers.
What are high fiber foods?
High-fiber foods often referred to as bulk or roughage include whole grain products, fruits, vegtables, legumes. Fiber increases the weight and size of the stool, in addition to softening it. The bulky stool is easier to pass, lessening the chance of constipation.
Many forms of dietary fiber promote bowel regularity. Fiber may decrease the chance of diverticlar disease ,and prevent hemorrhoids. If you have diarrhea often fiber may help solidify the stool, because it absorbs water.
If you want to make sure you eat adequate fiber, limit your consumption of processed foods which have little fiber in them. Eat high fiber snacks such as nuts ,seeds, popcorn, dried fruits and whole-grain-crackers. Increase
your fiber intake slowly. Your bowel regime wil improve in a few weeks.
