The importance of food is to provide the nutrients the body needs not only to stay in shape, but above all to live. We must therefore eat daily the three main classes of nutrients (carbohydrates, lipids and proteins) that will give us energy and help us grow and survive.

The human body has a high degree of sophistication with an organized system of over 60 trillion cells, each with a unique and specific requirement of nutrients for a proper operation. Nutrients are chemical substances contained in food. Because of these chemicals, nutrients will build and repair body structures and regulate metabolic processes.
Food is any natural or synthetic chemical introduced into the blood that nourishes, repairs the wear, and gives the body energy and heat, without causing harm or loss of functional activity. Our way of life has evolved and with it our food. Between work, family, fast food and slimming diets, eating a balanced exercise becomes elusive.

In addition, external factors such as stress, physical exercise, diet, snuff and pollution can affect our balance vitamins and minerals. Food has to be varied and balanced, just to get all the necessary nutrients.

What are the food supplements and how can i use them?

The first way in which a supplement can help you improve your health, build muscle, lose fat, and so on, is by simply offsetting nutritional deficiencies. The majority of naturopaths, nutritionists, dietitians, doctors, etc. have seen supplements as a way to protect the body against the deficiencies of vitamins, minerals, protein, and calories. One example is the vitamin supplements that have been used for decades as a method to prevent serious and even fatal diseases caused by nutritional deficiencies.

Another mechanism, by which supplements can have a positive impact on the effort to build a better body, is providing a nutrient that is a subcell or a nutrient that is not usually optimum levels in the diet.

So, despite what some nutritionists, doctors and other experts say there are reasons to use science-based supplements.

A supplement may work in three different ways: for the prevention and correction of some nutrient deficiencies, to provide optimum levels of a nutrient needed for the cell functions and eventually to provide the cell of a substance that does not require, but to alter its operation.

Still, it’s important to remember that food supplements should not replace a balanced diet.
