You see them at the park with the joggers, your see them at the gym, you even see the teenagers hanging out drinking them. They are the newest heath craze, “energy drinks” but one must ask are they good for us?
The honest answer is no, especially if it becomes a daily habit; perhaps once in a while when there is so much to do, and your need the “pick me up” it may not be too bad, but in reality we must ask our self; What is in it that gives us that Boost? Well we all know it has to be some sort of stimulate, such as caffeine, high amounts of sugar, guarana; with taurine being the most common stimulate in today’s “wild and crazy” world.
Energy drink such as red bull and Monster have more caffeine in it than five cups of coffee; which truly can get the heart pumping sometimes causing medical issues. As I mentioned earlier occasional consumption is pretty harmless, unless of cause you find your heart racing after drinking such beverages; I would suggest talking to your doctor about this, and definitely stay away from any of the energy drinks out there.

For those who drink a can or two daily, every day, they are setting themselves up for some major health issues, first it will start will sleep problems, heart palpitations, severe headaches, there have even been reports of seizures and a few who suffered heart attacks.
These beverages push us beyond our limits and this can throw your perception of fatigue, pain, and anxiety off course, because the brain has been stimulated along with your heart beyond the limits. If your drinking the energy drinks to keep you awake; do the proper thing, and take a nap, if your doing it to give you over all energy and you think it is healthy beware this is not true. The healthiest thing to drink is water, it keeps your mind focused while cleansing your body of toxins and will keep you hydrated and healthier long term.
The advertisers out there make it all sound and look pretty, but take the time to read the small print, it just may save your life

I have never drank an energy drink in my life (if you don’t count less than half a can of V)! Thanks for telling me why they are bad!

You make some excellent points. I’m not a big fan of energy drinks either. More water and green tea.
