Foods for Your Thought
Have you had your banana today?

- Want your daily dose of calcium but not the fat? Try drinking soya milk instead of regular fresh milk. Soya milk is high in protein and doesn’t have any animal fat!
- Craving for a snack? Instead of grabbing a bag of chips, try munching on a handful of peanuts–they’re less fattening, plus they have Vitamin E (which is an anti-oxidant) and they make you feel fuller. Or you can munch on some fruit.
- A glass of soya milk for merienda will be healthier than a chocolate bar or a cup of ice cream–plus it will give you a sugar fix with sauce.
- A banana a day… When you’re thinking of a snacking on a fruit, how about reaching for banana? Research has shown that just two bananas (don’t over do it) can provide enough energy for a strenuous workout. But it’s not just a great energy booster, in another research 200 students were more alert (measured in their exams) by eating bananas during breakfast, recess and lunch. The potassium in the fruit is real brain booster.
