How Important is Vitamin B12?
Not getting enough Vitamin B12 can and will make you tired, sluggish; while lowering your resistance to virus and bacterial germs that are all around us.
This is a very important form vitamin in the B family, and is the hardest for the body to absorb, and maintain the proper levels; but we need it for strength. Vitamin B12 helps us to combat fatigue and exhaustion just to names a few reasons you should ask your heath care provider to check your levels.
There are two forms of this vitamin, the more expensive one is better since it is made in such a way that the body can easily absorb, and strengthen our body and our cells, it is called methycobalamin and is very effective. The less expensive one requires you to take more, so that your body get the adequate amount needed, this formula is called cyanocobalamin; but when all is said a done, even taking large amounts of this form, the body does not absorb the proper amounts.
Vitamin B12 is found in animal products, so if you are cutting out red meat from your diet, you need to increase your intake of seafood, liver, soy products and sea vegetable. Vegetables that are grown on land do not contain vitamin B; therefore vegetarian need to include a B12 supplement to their diet.
Most adults as they age require more vitamin B12 to maintain normal activities, and keep their immune system strong, a deficiency in this vitamin leaves most feeling the need to nap at least once during the day, twice if they are very busy, and catching a lot of colds, whether viral or bacterial.

In our family we suffer from mouth ulcers and the one thing that keeps us going is Vit B Complex capsules. I always have a strip with me, I know its healthier to get it from your food, but I need the concentrated dose every once in a while.
