How to Correct Your Diet
There are many foods which are unhealthy, but too tempting to resist. when you have such foods, your next meal should consist of healthy diet to maintain balance.
There is no food in this world that can be classified on the basis of good food and bad food. But it is the temptation that we succumb to; we should adopt a strict control formula to check on our diet, though it is not so practical to follow.
Here are some foods on which you should keep some control
Pizza – The base of the pizza is made up of plain flour or maida, which has very little or no fibre at all, resulting in increase in blood sugar level. The second thing is the butter coating the base and the cheese layered on top contains high fat and cholesterol level blocking the arteries.
Chocolate cake – Chocolate cake craving is one of the most difficult to deal with, be it in the happy times or depression, one can’t resist it. But it contains full of fat, cholesterol and no fibre, full of calories and take lot of time to digest.
Aerated drinks – These should be best avoided as it contains harmful chemicals that can cause severe acidity and teeth erosion. The bones become brittle when taken for a long time, as all the calcium is lost.
Chaat – If you have street food chat, then there is 100% chance of getting stomach infection. These chaat item also contains fried items which are high in cholesterol that can block your arteries in the long run, and the water used for making chutneys are seldom made with pure water leading to stomach infection and acidity.
Chinese food – Most of the Chinese foods are cooked by sprinkling aji-no-moto, which not only contain chemicals but also reported to have a deteriorating effect on the brain. Secondly they are high on sodium, and the content of fibre is too low or almost nil which can lead to constipation, acidity and even water retention.
Ice cream – Which person in the world is not fond of ice cream, it holds number one position in our comfort food list. But it only gives you temporary satisfaction, unless it is made up of real milk, in that case it is a good source of protein. Or else you are just adding fat to your body and the colour and preservatives used can interfere with the digestive juices making it difficult to process.
When you have such meals, your next meal should contain lot of fibre like a bowl of steamed vegetable, brown rice or multi-grain bread. To combat increase in sugar level, you can have a glass of bottle gourd, celery juice or barley soup, spinach soup. Drink lot of water throughout the day, water and green tea is the best way to detoxify the body. You can also have butter milk, cold milk, coconut milk or apple juice to relieve from uneasy stomach. To eliminate acidity, you can have sprout salad or moong dal kichdi as it contains vitamin B and E that will help to get rid of acid
from your body. You can also have a bowl of mixed fruits.
