How to Take Care of Your Eyes

Eyes, the most important organ of our body, should be protected by following simple tips.

  • Always wash your eyes with cold water.
  • Eat foods that are rich in vitamins like green leafy vegetables, fish, milk, papaya and egg.
  • If you have dark circles under your eyes, keep cut slices of potato and cucumber.
  • Soak amla in water overnight and strain it in the morning and wash eyes with that water.
  • Keep on blinking your eyes or close your eyes to relax the eye muscles.
  • If water mixed with salt is splashed on the eyes, it helps to cure eyes infection.
  • If your eyes are puffy, take a short nap.
  • Get regular eye checkups.
  • Wear sunglasses which have400 UV protection or more. When you buy lenses, see to it that the lenses can absorb 99 to 100% UV light, especially UV-B light.
  • Have lot of vitamin rich foods as they prevent lot of problems. Vitamin A is good for reducing cataract and night blindness. Vitamin C helps reduce the pressure in glaucoma and slows down the effects of degeneration due to old age.
