After a Workout
Mangoes are ideal for replenishing the body’s energy, salts and vitamins after vigorous physical activity. In addition, studies have shown that their nutrients strengthen the brain, heart and nerve tissues found in the muscles.
Clear Skin
The unique properties in the mango help clear skin of unwanted clogged pores keeping skin healthy and beautiful. When consumed or applied (face masks) regularly, the skin is left with a shining soft texture.
Pregnant Women/Anemic
Because the mango is high in iron, it is highly recommended for people with anemia or pregnant women to eat them on a regular basis. Furthermore, the magnesium and calcium content in mangoes works to prevent abortions, relieves stress and acts as muscle relaxants in pregnant women.
Relieve Burns
Surprisingly, the burnt ashes of mango leaves when applied to areas of the body that have been burned, bring quick and much needed relief.
Help Prevent Teeth Problems
Interestingly, dried mango seeds not only strengthen the gums they also act as effective toothpastes.
Improve your Memory
Glutamine acid is a key protein that helps aid in memory and concentration. Mango is packed with this nutrient and will no doubt improve all intellectual aspects of your life.

The term ’superfruit’, coined by the food and beverage industry in 2004 referrs to a list of fruits that are both high in nutrients and antioxidants. Although mangoes are in the superfruit family their not the only fruit that holds healing qualities. Some of the others include, blueberries, cranberries, grapes and pomegranite. Don’t forget to put them all on your shopping list!

Hi Liane! Another informative piece. Here in New England, (CT) it’s very hard to find a decent ripe Mango. They’re always very pulpy & stringy, sweet yes but the texture is gross. Plums have just as many antioxidants and are more plentiful in my area, also blueberries.
