Everyone knows that fresh, unprocessed foods, along with a glass of wine represents the best way to keep fit and stay healthy.

Mediterranean diet help lower rates of heart disease and cancer, according to the researchers, as it is rich in fats from fish, olive oil, nuts and seeds.

The Mediterranean diet is suitable for fish lovers, those who enjoy whole foods, as the meal plan includes the traditional healthy living habits of people from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. It’s about an abundance of vegetables, legumes, dried beans, whole grains, fruits, nuts, seeds, olive oil and a moderate consumption of fish, poultry and minimal red meat. And a glass of wine along with those delicious healthy meals.

There aren’t allowed excessive amounts of red meat and processed foods.

The diet includes all the necessary nutrients, providing all the daily meals. Some suitable recipes could be: Olive Oil Toast and Yogurt with Blueberries and Almonds for breakfast, Mediterranean Bean Salad with Cheese and Kiwi for lunch, Lemon Pepper Salmon with Lentil Rice and Spinach Salad for dinner and Apple with Goat Cheese as a snack.
