Monitor Your Progress to Healthy Eating

Monitor your progress to healthy eating and be all you wish to be. Grow in confidence as you become healthy and happy.

So you’re on your way to a healthier leaner body. By keeping an eye on your progress, you’ll be able to recognize weaknesses and nip them in the bud. Keeping a diary is the best way to do that. Start by writing down the time you ate, what you ate, and how many fat and calories were in the food. Include any other important information, such as whether you were watching TV, feeling lonely, or reading the newspaper. whether you were dining out or at a special outing. Also use your diary to record how far you walked, swam, or how long you worked out, and how often you did it. Write it down right immediately afterwards, so you won’t forget it. Keep forgeing ahead and don’t look back.

At the end of each week, review and look for patterns. Be sure you stayed within your fat and calorie budget and exercised long enough. Did you over indulge when eating out? If so, look for other restaurants with lower fat items, or you might eat out less often. The diary will help you see the areas you need to work on.

Charting your progress will give you a lift every time you check your chart. Use a sheet of graph paper. Draw a straight line along the bottom of your sheet and mark off the line in one week parts. Now, draw a line perpendicular to the horizontal line at the left margin. At the top of the vertical line, write down your starting weight. Mark off the rest of the vertical line in descending, one pound increments. At the beginning of each week, record your weight by placing a dot on the chart. Weigh yourself only once a week and on the same day of the week.

Don’t be discouraged and allow your will power to waver. You have all the tools you need to get healthy, lean and confident. You will succeed if you stick to the program.

  10. Its good to eat healthy no matter what size or shape you are – I have metabolism issues which keep me thin no matter what I eat.
But I always am amazed at people who are obviously at unhealthy weights because of eating too much and then they blame it on a metabolism problem rather than a donut problem.
