Myth: Should I Drink 1,5 Litre of Water Everyday?

The truth about drinking water everyday.

The myth says that we have to drink 1,5-2 litres of water everyday (that’s 6-8 glasses of water). Well that’s not totally true because based on some researches, you don’t have to drink that amount of water to stay healthy. We provide our bodies with water by eating vegetables, fruits, juices, milks etc. We even get water from foods like meat, cheese and spaghetti.

Every person has different water needs. An athletic person needs over 3 litres of water everyday, whereas a “lazy” one needs about 1-1,5 litre of water. Drinking too much water (that’s over 4-5 litres everyday) can cause you serious health problems. Doctors say that you should drink as much water as you like, based on your needs. If you don’t know how much water you need, then not getting thirsty and having your urine clear will be an indication that you get the amount of water you need.
