Right Mind About Food

A mind needs a good body so why does a mind that would not dare overdose with a prescription drug allow a body to eat itself to death?

We know alcohol kills the liver, nicotine destroys the lungs, cocaine fries the brain and now there is concern that food is just as deadly.

Would you take a whole bottle of vitamins at one time?

Diets go round and round the belly- go- round. Make the dietteers rich, don’t they? The best diet is “eat less, walk more!” Food is fun, but diabetes and heart attacks are not. Food is wonderful if taken in moderation. The purpose of life is not to eat. The purpose of life is to breath well and pump blood through good arteries so that we can stay alive long enough to raise kids that might be able to figure things out better than we can.

Have another slice of ham. Don’t you like that chocolate cake? How long did it take you to find that parking space right next to Wal Mart?

Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble it all down and never mind you never remember what you have eaten. The wife asked “what did you have for lunch honey?” You ate it so fast you don’t even remember.

Eat it slowly. Ritualize the meal, like it was Holy Communion. Have a big spoon of ice cream instead of a large bowl topped with a bucket of chocolate and one hundred almonds.

You don’t need all that fattening stuff!

Oh! I hate those mirrors. Didn’t know I’d gotten so big. Food abuse is body abuse. I don’t believe I ate the whole thing.

What can we do to have the right mind about food?

Act like its medicine. Take a prescription amount. When thoughts of more food arise let them arise and float away while you keep your hands in your pockets or under your belt.
