Trans Fat or Trans Fatty Acid is the dangerous ingredients found in most of our foods, such as cakes, pastries, meat, milk, oil, etc.

 Most of the trans fat occurs in foods, where food manufacture bubble hydrogen through liquid oils, turning them into solids to make cakes, biscuits and others by – product foods. The process of Trans Fat improves food’s shelf life, flavour and stability.

What concerns dietitians most is the Trans Fat that comes from the manufacturing process. Oil containing Trans Fat is still widely used in manufacture of products such as biscuits, cakes, buns and pies, as well as deep – frying some fast food.

The cause of death globally is coronary heart disease, it’ s caused by condition called atherosclerosis where fatty deposits build up on the walls of the arteries, cause them to narrow and interrupt the flow of blood to the heart.

Trans Fat can promote the inflammations and have a role in other risk factors for heart disease. A two percent increase in energy intake from Trans Fat was associated with a 23 percent increased risk of coronary heart disease.

Trans fat increase the level of “bad” or LDL cholesterol in our blood, it has an ability to lower the concentration of “good” or HDL cholesterol, which protects us against heart disease.

It has been proven that replacing Trans Fat with good fats could cut tour risk of heart attach by a whopping 53 percent. Some of the Institute of Medicine has suggested the only safe level of Trans Fat is zero.

Labeling the Trans Fats Contain on Food

The amount of Trans Fats should be included on labeling due to some countries are moving to ban the foods containing of high percentage of Trans Fat. In order to solve the problem of Trans Fat is to list the amount of total and saturated fat for every other food, including those that are likely to have high levels risk of Trans Fat.
