Different types of teas are consumed at different times of the day, and for different health reasons making it a versatile drink. Here are some great reasons to start adding this tasty drink to your eating diet.

Antioxidants - The main reason drinking tea is so healthy for us is that it contains high levels of antioxidants. These are the disease preventing cells that take of cancer causing free radicals. It is also not just green tea that contains antioxidants.

Flouride - Another great health benefit is the flouride it contains which is good for your teeth and helps kill bad breath bacteria.

Blood Pressure - Tea is known to help keep lower and control blood pressure along with a healthy diet.

Cholestorol - It is also noted that tea can help lower your cholesterol and protect the heart against disease.

Calories - Studies have shown that tea assists in the faster burning of calories, helping the body to reduce and control weight. It’s effectiveness in doing so however has not been thoroughly researched.

Immune System - Scientists also believe now that tea helps the body improve its immune system, which in turn improves chances of successfully fighting illness or disease.

Lower Caffiene – Tea contains around half the amount of caffiene compared with a cup of fresh coffee. Too much caffiene in the system can have negative effects.

How many cups –
To start enjoying these benefits try to consume around 3-5 cups a day. I’m sure you could fit that amount in, some people manage to fit 10 cups a day. Which may be a little too much, purely for the caffiene and sugar added to it.

So it’s pretty clear to see the health benefits are a plenty, just watch the added sugar and type of milk you use and enjoy your transition into a seasoned tea drinker. If you already are, then you now know how healthy a habit it is!
