The extraordinary amounts of vitamin C, folic acid, niacin and, vitamin B3, B6 , B12 vitamin C, vitamin E., polyphenols, and antioxidants provided by the Pomegranate may give you more benefit then many other vegetables and fruits.

The rich antioxidant effect of pomegranates is three times greater than that of either red wine or green tea and this fruit is loaded with fiber. In addition, pomegranate juice, like aspirin without the side effects, can help keep blood platelets from clumping together to form dangerous blood clots.

Research has found that eight ounces of pomegranate juice taken daily for three months improved the amount of oxygen supply to the heart muscle of patients with coronary heart disease (American Journal of the College of Cardiology, Sept. 2005). There have also been studies that show the possibility that pomegranate compounds might prevent prostate cancer or slow its growth. In laboratory mice, treatment with pomegranate extract slowed down the development of tumors and improved survival rates, particularly in relation to prostate cancer although there is also some suggestion that the same benefits may extend to breast cancer, (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Sept. 26, 2005). This promising research reveals that the Pomegranate may be a powerful means of fighting and even preventing these types of cancer.

It is believed that Pomegranates have the ability to not only protect against atherosclerosis, the thickening of arterial walls which can cause heart attacks and strokes, but to actually reverse this thickening and return your arteries to a more healthful condition. This is something that no available drug on the market is capable of doing at this time.

Pomegranates are an abundant source of potassium which helps to maintain a healthy blood pressure. They also can effectively reduce your levels of bad cholesterol and help to increase levels of the good cholesterol which is very important to improving blood flow to all areas of the body which will decrease the risk of heart attacks, strokes and impotence.
