The Purple Passion Fruit

The purple passion fruit can be beneficial to your health.

Passion fruit resembles the pomegranate. The fruit grows on a climbing vine and it’s leaves are a deep green glossy color. The flowers are white petals with purple at the base. These flowers are very fragrant. It is grown in a warm environment with sun and shade. The fruit is a native to Brazil. They are grown in Hawaii, Florida, California and is sold at the market all year.

Inside the passion fruit contains many seeds that are edible. These seeds provide an excellant source of fiber. The passion fruit provides potassium, iron, vitamin A and C. Passion fruit may be eaten fresh or cooked for sauces. Some prefer passion fruit juice. The flavor of the passion fruit resembles guava. This fruit is enjoyed all over the world. In Africa it is mixed with milk. In Costa Rica there is passion fruit wine.

The passion fruit is very nutritious and it includes protein, carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, calcium,  and ascobic acid. The passionfruit juice can be mixed with other juices such as pineapple or orange juice.
