Human body needs all kinds of food items to stay healthy and fit. Our quest for good taste has led us towards food, which are devoid of any nutritional value. We do not eat to survive, sometimes we indulge in all kinds of wrong food, which only satisfies our taste buds .
Modern world is reeling under the scourge of diseases, like diabetes, heart problems and cancer. At the same time obesity is seen everywhere. The connection between these diseases and obesity has also been established. So it has become imperative to take drastic steps to control our weight.
We need to go back to the distant past,early days of human existence,to find out about our basic needs. In the days of food gathering our prehistoric ancestors must have used fruits and nuts to survive.
Even today these items are unaltered . They are packed with nutrition . Raw nuts provide vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Raw nuts are healthier than the roasted ones,because roasting oxidizes some of the healthy fats in the nuts, reducing the nutritional value. Raw nuts preserve the vital nutrients and help the body to burn more fat. The end result is – faster weight loss.
Another food item , that was regarded as not so healthy is the whole egg.It is a very good source of protein, vitamin and minerals. Egg yolks contain 90% of the minerals and vitamins.Whole eggs contain protein that is crucial to building of the lean muscles in the human body. The lean muscles increases our metabolic rate and helps in weight loss.
The combination of proteins along with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals help in keeping the hunger pangs at bay,for a longer period of time. The egg is a great energy giver, so people don’t feel weak, and are able to function properly.
The third item of food are the berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries,acaiberries and goji berries). Berries give us healthy carbohydrates. They are the source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and even fiber.
the berries help in controlling the craving for sugar, normally associated with people on a weight loss plan.Berries have a higher fiber to sugar ratio than most fruits, so are more useful in weight loss.
