Tips and Tricks to Start Your Summer Fit

Some little tips and tricks to help you jump start your summer.

As the summer approaches, more and more people tend to start dieting and hitting the gym. Often times we forget simple little steps that we can do to help move our goals of losing weight and shaping up along. I know a lof of these are things you all will know, but at the same time it is nice to just have a few helpful tips and tricks to get us up and going. So here I have compiled a few things to do to help motivate you and help you see some results. Enjoy!

  1. Make a plan and stick to it. Many times we all will start something and never really finish it. This could be because we don’t really think what we are doing thru or don’t get some sort of organization to help us achieve our goals. So make a plan and stick to it! Do you want to lose weight, tone up or maybe just get healthy? Write it all down so you know what your working towards.
  2. Keep a journal. Writing down your progress really helps. You can see where you started and how your slowly progressing. List your starting weight and do a weekly weigh in. Monitor your work out. You will notice little things. For example maybe you can run longer or lift more. Keeping something as simple as a journal will really help you along the way.
  3. Tell everyone you know. Yes, that’s right. Tell everyone you know about what your doing. The more people you tell about your new workout or diet the more likely you are to stick to it. When you are letting people know that your about to embark on something new, you really want to prove to them that you can do it. So shout it to the world!
  4. Drink more water. This is one of the most simplest things to do. Start drinking more water. It is that easy. When you substitute water for what you normally drink, not only are you hydrating your body better, but you are also cutting so many empty calories.
  5. Smarter snacks.Along with drinking more water, try eating better snacks. You don’t have to limit yourself to nothing but health food, but you should make some smarter choices. Try making little changes like eating more fruit and veggies in place of your normal fast food fries. Don’t snack late at night and always eat in moderation. Want some ice cream? Go for it! Just don’t eat the whole tub in one sitting.
  6. Take the long way. Another simple trick is to start taking the long way. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. Maybe park towards the back of the parking lot instead of the front. All these extra steps add up! Don’t be lazy and take the easy way.
  7. Get support. Getting someone to support you in your goal is always a good idea. Join an online community or get a friend to join in your cause. It is encouraging and helpful to have someone there to vent to or to work for the same goal as you. You guys can exchange tips and tricks along with some recipe ideas.

I hope you all find these small little tips useful. Like I said earlier, I know many of these we all know already, but a friendly reminder sometimes helps!
