Top Five Foods We Forget

Top five foods we sometimes don’t think of as healthy.

Here are some great foods that we don’t think about; if we just added them to your daily meals it would shed the pounds like you never imagined.

1)      Green tea. The anti-oxidants and health benefits in green tea are limitless. Go ahead and look up all the ways that green tea can help your body. A significant one of course is weight loss; this tea is amazing for speeding up the metabolism and helping the body in hundreds of ways, and a healthy body is a fit body. Try 1 cup of green tea in the morning with honey and lemon; you’ll be astonished by the results.

2)      Pepper. Ah pepper, it comes in many forms; pepper corns, ground, cayenne, black or white. I put pepper on everything, while it spices up your food it also speeds up your metabolism completely naturally. Spicy food is a great metabolism booster so add some spices like pepper to anything you eat!

3)      Garlic. Garlic is known as the Godly food, as it can attack healthy cells the same amount as bad cells. If you feel a cold coming on try adding lots of garlic to your food to fight it off and stop it before it begins. Garlic is also very powerful if you’re trying to lose weight, go ahead and add it to whatever you want; eggs, stir-fry, whatever!

4)      Fish. Some like fish and some don’t, but consider the amazing health benefits of fish. Salmon, mackerel and tuna are the main sources of omega-3 fatty acids, these are a huge contributor to a healthy diet overall. Omega-3’s help you loose and keep weight off, keep you full for longer without craving bad fats, and these fish have amazing disease fighting properties that you can’t get from even veggies or other meats.

5)      Berries. We all love them and think we eat a lot, but really we don’t get enough berries in our diets. A quick hint when buying strawberries; though organic foods are expensive and many think it’s a crock, strawberries (much like spinach) grow the closest to the ground compared to other foods, therefore get many, many more pesticides and chemicals in the fruit itself which can in fact be harmful, so only buy organic strawberries. Berries have anti-oxidants out the wazoo and the health benefits are amazing. Berries also have less natural sugars than many of the tropical fruits we eat such as oranges and bananas, even natural sugar is sugar and eating far to much can have harmful effects, so try berries instead!
