Everything you wanted to know about vitamins in a layman’s terms.
What are vitamins?
They are basically nutrients obtained from our food and which are very important and required in small quantities for proper functioning of our human body.
How are they obtained?
They are essentially brought to us through fresh fruits, vegetables, meat etc and offcourse from all living materials.
Does our body manufacture vitamins?
our body has the capacity to manufacture only one type of vitamin D, that too under certain favourable conditions, however all other vitamins need to be obtained from outside
How many types of vitamins do humans need?
As per the RDA currently we require about 13 vitamins and lots of others are being discovered by scientists.
