Vitamins are Not Always Good for Health
Vitamins consumed too much can be harmful to health.
Thus, vitamin D, necessary to determine the calcium on bone, becomes toxic when it takes too. The same is true for vitamin A. Note that the usual food, provides sufficient vitamins do not need to consume more. But sometimes, in certain very specific situations, the doctor is required to prescribe vitamins. This applies, for example, vitamin B9 (folic acid) for some pregnant women, or of vitamin D for older people lacking calcium.
So what about vitamin supplements?
Vitamin supplements are often unnecessary and can sometimes even be toxic. Studies very serious * (based on surveys of food) have shown that people who consumed lots of vitamin A had less lung cancer. In other words, this vitamin should protect themselves from the risk of lung cancer. Belle felt bargain! Large studies were made at several tens of thousands of smokers in different countries (Finland, USA) to confirm these results. Some smokers have taken vitamin A (more accurately, the beta carotene form of vitamin A that is found in carrots and fruit) and others a placebo (ie nothing). Unfortunately it took déchanter, smokers who took vitamin supplements had more lung cancer than smokers taking the placebo. Explanation: in quantities of vitamin supplements were in fact much too important and then become toxic. In food, the quantities of vitamins are much lower.
Key points of these studies? Eating fruits and vegetables every day at every meal is good for health. But it is unnecessary and even dangerous, to take supplements of vitamin A. As for other vitamin supplements, they are generally of little use.
