Wondrous Soup: Enhance Immune System, Restore Energy, Accelerate Healing and Fight Off Diseases

This wondrous soup doesn’t cost you much but its medicinal effect is excellent. It has been proven to fight off various types of cancers, diabetes, arthritis, constipation, hypertension, etc., while enhancing immune system, boosting energy and accelerating healing.

Improper diet has been identified as a main culprit why the child has a relatively weak immune system, bad mood, insufficient sleep and loss of concentration. Similarly, adults are facing the similar dilemma when they’re not living in a balanced and healthy diet. Additionally, the combination of high salt, high sugar, and high fat, generally, has brought negative impacts by damaging their brains and organs in an extreme extent, until one day they find hard to recognize or distinguish what is bad and what is good (quoted from my previous article entitled The Secrets of Youth, Health and Longevity: How to live healthily to 100 or beyond ). This situation is further coupling with worsen sleep condition and pressure of life, making them prone to civilized diseases such as obesity, diabetes, stroke, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

The imbalance in the immune system has put us into a nasty consequence of being sick, pain and irritation. Dwelling in this artificial environment, we get sick easily. Our environment and foods have been modified drastically from its natural property, until one day, we’re alerted to have a relatively low immune system. Though our immune system functions like a computer data file, it is found to be no longer to detect who is an enemy and who is not. Its program has been messed up causing its response towards the invasion of pathogens becomes extremely low. When the immune system is incapable to deal with the “arrival guest”, it may not be able to cope with an onslaught of pathogens.

To adjust this situation, we should first switch from an unhealthy to a healthy diet. By doing so, we can help our body restore its energy and healing ability. Here comes the important of being careful of what we put into our mouth.

What is Vegetable Soup?

The vegetable soup has been around 10 years in Japan. It is neither magical nor superior soup that the restaurant will serve you at the table. It’s merely a simple soup with a combination of 5 vegetables (carrot, white carrot, mushroom, white carrot’s leaves, and burdock). It costs you not much but its medicinal effect is great. Everyone can afford to prepare for this soup as you can buy those vegetables at a lower price at your nearby store.

The vegetable soup is particularly good for kids who hate to eat vegetables. Its curing and healing property has been experiencing by many patients in Asia. People have always regarded it as a “healing soup”.

What Are the Health Benefits of Vegetable Soup?

The vegetable soup has healed and cured many diseases. Believe it or not, you’ve to experience yourself. It has shown promising results in diabetes, types 1 or type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obesity, arthritis, various types of cancers, allergy, stroke, back pain, numbed limbs, influenza, colds, constipation, indigestion, gout, skin and scalp disorders, menopause syndrome related diseases, anemia, depression, kidney disease, kidney stone, hair loss, oral related diseases, insomnia, asthma and etc.

Special Notes On Health Benefits of Vegetable Soup

  1. The chemotherapy is a dreadful experience. The first injection will always get you vomiting. You could hardly swallow or even bite on foods. The difficulty of eating can sometimes proceed to a week longer. Within a period of chemotherapy treatment, you’ll have a deep feeling of annoying and discomfort and your emotion fluctuates variably. The pain is beyond the description of words here. If you’re undergoing chemotherapy or just have a treatment of chemotherapy, you’re advised to take 8 cups or even 12 cups (with each cup of 50ml) of this vegetable soup a day. The large quantity amount of this vegetable soup will furnish your body with the required nutrients. Now, give this vegetable soup a try!
  2. When you’ve a disease related to heart, it must be a very painful experience. You’ll have many dreadful days and nights. You could hardly sleep properly. Similarly, you could hardly eat contentedly. Your heart will sometimes get squeezed like a sponge; or get twisted like a spring! The intake of this vegetable soup can help to improve the health condition of your heart. After consuming this soup for at least 3 consecutive months, you’ll feel that your heart can function properly and at the same time, you feel less pain. Take note that vegetable soup is not a medicine; rather it’s a natural remedy to boost your heart to its normal level, and to improve the existing health condition of your heart. Make sure that you take 2 to 3 cups (with each cup of 40ml) of vegetable soup a day.
  3. If your blood sugar stays in 274mg/dl (the normal level should be from 60 to 120mg/ dl), you should give this vegetable soup a try. Drink 3 cups (with each cup of 50ml) of vegetable soup a day to help regulate your blood sugar. The intake period is 3 to 6 consecutive months. Within a week, you’ll find that your blood sugar has been lowered below 250 to 130mg/ dl or it may be lesser depending on the situation of your blood sugar. You may also discover that your hair has grown healthily. Therefore, I recommend you to give this wondrous soup a try.
  4. If you’re a cancer patient, you’re strongly recommended to take this vegetable soup. Many cancer patients have successfully retrieved their normal lives after consuming this vegetable soup for certain periods. Cancer patients are advised to take this vegetable soup 600ml a day for about 6 consecutive months. After consuming this soup, you’ll find your immune system becomes stronger and your energy can be restored to a condition before suffering from this disease. So, what’re you waiting for? For the sake of your health, you should try this wondrous soup.
  5. If you’re suffering from a disease related to liver or spleen, make sure that you drink this vegetable soup early in the morning (means after washing up). The intake should be 3 to 4 consecutive months, with 500ml a day. After consuming this wondrous soup for certain periods, you’ll feel comfortable and your mood won’t be fluctuated so variably.

At this stage, you shouldn’t doubt on the power of this vegetable soup. But you should experience it, so that you can gain its endless health benefit. You can’t simply jump to conclusion without trying it, can you?

Why it is so Important to Drink Vegetable Soup?

Vegetable Soup Contains More Cancer-fighting Phytochemicals

We all know that eating green leafy vegetables can prevent us from getting cancer. A research from Japan shows that eating cooked vegetables rewards our body with more cancer-fighting phytochemicals as compared to if we eat raw vegetables. The research points out that our body assimilates this anti-cancer substance better from the cooked vegetable than the raw vegetables. When the cooked vegetable soup is taken, our body can effectively assimilate 10 – 100 times of this anti-cancer substance.

Vegetable Soup Helps to Neutralize and Eliminate Bad Radicals

Colon cancer, in most cases, is due to too much intake of lean meat and high-cholesterol foods. Over time, it can progress to the formation of unknown tumors that further deteriorates our health.

When the substance from the lean meat called “heme” reacts with the oxidised cholesterol substance (via a process called lipid peroxidation reaction) from the high lipid foods, it leads to the formation of bad radicals. These so called lipid peroxide radicals are the same group of free radicals which can harm our DNA gene by stimulating the growth of cancerous cells. Not only these radicals will cause cancer, but also they cause the aging and the hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis). As a result, our health drops well below the par.

Cancer and reactive oxygen species are closely related. When someone is infected with influenza, the reactive oxygen species will greatly increase in their body. At the same time, the radicals called superoxide radicals increase in the lungs. If one can get rid of these superoxide radicals, then he or she can stay in better health. In other words, the reactive oxygen species themselves are the main culprits for the disease such as influenza or liver disease.

We’re unable to prevent the formation of reactive oxygen species in our body, but we can find ways to neutralize and eliminate them from being stayed in our body. Only by eliminating these reactive oxygen species, we can maintain our optimum health. As leafy vegetables are excellent source of flavonoids, we can always rely on them to help remove these radicals. Many studies have shown that the cooked vegetable soup contains abundant flavonoids and thus here comes the importance of having vegetable soup.

Vegetable Soup is a Great Source for Anti-reactive Oxygen Species Substance

Why don’t we eat raw fresh vegetables? Of course, eating raw fresh vegetables reward your body with more nutrients than cooked vegetables. However, eating cooked vegetables, particularly having cooked vegetable soup is more beneficial to our health. You may look at me and wonder why. Perhaps, you may feel disbelief on me.

Well, let me explain here. When you eat raw vegetables, the cell wall (the outer layer of the plant cell) will trap the anti-reactive oxygen species substance from being assimilated by your body. This anti-reactive oxygen species substance will later dump as a waste substance to be excreted together with your feces. When the plant is heated, its cell wall is destroyed and this anti-reactive oxygen species substance is released for your body assimilation. The release of this substance helps to neutralize toxins, chemicals and radicals in our body before eliminating them via our excretory organs.

The research shows that the intake of vegetable soup is able to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells in the lymphocyte. This concludes that vegetable soup serves as a good helper to eliminate the deadly reactive oxygen species by converting them into non-toxic substances. Normally, vegetables that are grown and bathed in longer sunshine hours contain more anti-reactive oxygen species substance. As white carrot and its leaves are bathed in abundant sunshine, it’s therefore the best choice to add in this vegetable soup.

What Are the Components of Vegetable Soup?

Carrot

Carrot is a source for beta-carotene, Thiamin (vitamin B1), Vitamin B6, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Niacin (vitamin B3), Calcium, Sodium, fat, protein, chitin, essential amino acids, zinc and Phosphorus. Its antioxidant properties have long been known to help fight off various types of cancers, hardening artery and cardiovascular disease while promoting a good vision and regulating blood sugar level. Its property of beta-carotene is good for night vision due to its purple pigment called rhodopsin (the beta-carotene is first converted to vitamin A in the liver before it’s transformed into rhodopsin in the retina). The powerful of beta-carotene is not being exaggerated here as it has been clinically proved to help protect against the development of senile cataracts and Age-related macular degeneration or AMD (read more details on AMD in my previous article here.)

You may find more details on carrot in my previous article here or in Valli’s article here.

White Carrot/ Radish

Like carrot, white carrot can be eaten raw but it tastes strange. It’s recommended to cook since its taste appears to be unbearable for most of us. Due to its abundant coarser dietary fiber, it’s good to stimulate the peristalsis (movement) of the intestinal tract, so that excess toxins can be eliminated faster out of the body. This in turns reduces the risk of getting colon cancer and intestinal related diseases. Indeed, white carrot is our good intestinal cleaner as it promotes a good urinary tract function while helping us sweep off the rubbish remains or deposits in our colons. Its natural bioactive substance called phytochemicals is essential to help reduce stroke and various types of cancers, enhance immune system and protect the body against diseases. The allicin found in a white carrot has also been documented to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

Mushroom

Each 100g of mushrooms has been identified to have contained water (13g), fat (1.8g), carbohydrate (54g), coarser dietary fiber (7.8g), copper (124mg), iron (25.3mg), vitamin B1 (0.07mg), vitamin B2 (1.13mg). The figure shown in the bracket may have slightly varied for different species (such as shiitake, Tremella fuciformis, and etc.) of mushrooms. In general, mushroom is found low in calories (about 100 cal/oz), and little fat and sodium but high in vegetable proteins, making it a perfect diet for persons with diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, stroke, Alzheimer’s and high blood sugar. The potassium in mushrooms is an essential mineral that aids to maintain healthy blood pressure. Besides potassium, mushrooms also possess substances that help inhibit the activity of aromatase (an important enzyme that involved in estrogen production), and 5-alpha-reductase (an enzyme that helps convert testosterone to DHT). Mushrooms too, contain immune system enhancement properties which are vital to aid our body in hormonal balance, transport of oxygen and nutrients, metabolism, neuron transmission, and strengthened immune system by maintaining physiological homeostasis.

Burdock

Burdock is a root vegetable which has a remarkable medicinal value. It has long been used in Japanese cuisine for its excellent source of nutrients. Traditionally, it has been used as a natural remedy to cure sore throat, arthritis, colds, tonsillitis, and measles. Burdock contains many active ingredients such as calcium, resin, tannin, taraxosterol, potassium, polyacetylenes, mucilage, inulin, essential oil, flavonoids, iron, chlorogenic acid, arcigen, and lactone. The latest experimental results reveal that Burdock is used as a diuretic, and a gentle laxative to help eliminate uric acid from the body. It’s also found to be effective in treating gout, ulcers, eczema, psoriasis and acne; purifying and cleansing the bloodstream by removing toxins that may have built up or deposited in the blood; enhancing immune system, and the performance of colons, kidneys and livers (organs that involve in removing toxins and waste out of the body); promoting optimum health and easing pain from arthritis.

“Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food” (Hippocrates, 460-c. 370 BC)

How to Prepare Vegetable Soup?

1. Prepare the required ingredients: ½ carrot, ¼ white carrot, white carrot’s leaves and stems (1/2 of the whole bunch of leaves and 2 pieces of stems), ½ burdock, and 2 pieces of dry mushrooms (if you’re using the raw mushrooms, make sure that you keep them dry under the sun).

Note: These ingredients are prepared for one serving. To prepare for two servings, just double the quantity described here. Whenever possible choose these foods that are pesticides and herbicides- free.

2. Chop all the ingredients into slices. For carrot, burdock and white carrot, cut them into about 8cm in length, but cut the white carrot’s leaves together with its stem into a length of 5-6cm.

3. Put all the ingredients into a pot and pour water into it. The water should be 3 -4 times the height of the ingredients.

4. Bring water to boil. Once the water boils, simmer for about 1 to 2 hours and make sure that you cover the pot with the lid.

5. Leave it to cool. Strain the soup into one clean container and you’re now ready to enjoy your soup. While for the residual, you can either throw it away or use it to make compost (this is recommended to help avoid our water resources from being polluted).

6. If you can’t finish the soup or you want to drink it later, make sure that you keep it in one airtight container before you put it in the fridge.

7. Do not place the soup in the freezer. Make sure that it is kept in the fridge not more than 2 days to retain its nutrients and freshness.

Tip: If you feel cold, numb or your blood circulation is very poor, make sure that you drink this soup together with ginger tea. Alternatively, you can cut 3-4 slices of raw old gingers and put them into the soup before serving. For a patient who suffers from gout, kidney disease, kidney stone, gall bladder stone, and liver disease, you’re advised to drink this soup in moderation but not too much at a time.

Q & A for Vegetable Soup

Below are questions that people ask me about the vegetable soup. I hereby attach my answers here for your reference.

Q: Besides the five vegetables (carrot, white carrot, white carrot’s leaves and stems, mushroom and burdock), can I add in other vegetables to the vegetable soup?

A: No, it’s just enough for these five vegetables. Any additions will just be a redundant. Of course, you can add in few slices of raw old gingers into the cooked vegetable soup as I mentioned earlier (Under the subtitle of “How to prepare vegetable soup?”).

Q: Chan, I find hard to get the leaves for white carrot. Where shall I get them?

A: You can buy the white carrot together with its leaves and stems from any stores that sell organically grown vegetables. Alternatively, you can buy it directly from your nearby farm. While purchasing, just make sure that it’s free from the residual of any chemicals, herbicides or pesticides. If you’ve a land, you may consider planting your own white carrot.

Q: How long can I keep the vegetable soup?

A: It’s best to be taken straightaway. However, in a case that you can’t finish it, just keep it in the fridge, and make sure that you finish it within 48 hours for a better health result.

Q: Chan, I’ve seen “vegetable soup” is being sold in packets in the market. Is there any difference from the vegetable soup you recommended?

A: Well, in regards to its health benefit, I can’t deny its effect. It seems to be convenient, but how great is its health property, for me personally I think that only the drinker can provide you the appropriate answer. In any case, I recommend food to be taken in its natural way instead of the processed one.

Q: How much shall I drink vegetable soup in a day?

A: It varies according to the individual. Normal person is recommended to drink 300 – 1,000 cc per day. However, for those who suffer from gout, kidney disease, kidney stone, gall bladder stone, and liver disease, I advise you to take 200 – 400cc per day, and please adjust its volume accordingly.

Q: Is there any side effect?

A: No. I’ve personally tried on this vegetable soup up to a year. There have been lots of Japanese studies showing that the intake of vegetable soup have improved the life of patients. The Japanese have taken it for more than 10 years. No side effect has been reported so far. I sincerely advise chronic patients to seek for a doctor’s permission before having this vegetable soup.

Q: How long shall I drink this vegetable soup?

A: Each treatment basically will take at least 3 months. Here, I recommend you to take this vegetable soup for 4-6 consecutive months. You’ve to experience yourself to feel the amazing health effects of this vegetable soup.

Q: Chan, I’m healthy and I don’t fall sick. Shall I take this vegetable soup?

A: Anyone can take this soup even the small child. Don’t get confusing here, the vegetable soup is not a medicine. If you matter much on your health, no matter whether you’re sick or not, you’re encouraged to take this vegetable soup.

Q: Can a baby drink this vegetable soup?

A: Yes, you may add in 20 -40cc of this vegetable soup in the preparation of milk.

Q: What type of pot should I use to cook this vegetable soup?

A: The best is to use the stainless one but avoid using the aluminium one.
