Can Massage Help Relieve the Symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)?
If you fall victim to the “winter blues” you can be certain that seasonal depression is not just “in your head”. You can also take some comfort in knowing you are not alone. The National Institute of Health has certified Seasonal Affective Disorder as a legitimate reaction to the waning of the light in the fall and winter months, and they have calculated that nearly 10% of the population in the north western U.S., suffer from this disorder. But the good news is that there are several ways to overcome the symptoms of SAD, and massage may be one technique to choose.
