I can remember as a child being given locally produced honey mixed with lemon juice and hot water when I had a cold and it always seemed to work a treat. in later years, I learned that honey was also excellent for the skin (I used honey based cleansers and moisturisers from my local animal friendly beauty shop!) and I had heard that it had good antiseptic qualities too, but with it being quite an expensive commodity here in the UK I was fascinated by an article I read about good old “cheapo” sugar!
