Do you think you are eating actual Chinese food when you go to your local Chinese restaurant? If so, think again.

A lot of adults and teenagers love the taste of Chinese food. I myself love it.
The only problem is some people do not realize (including me) that what
they are eating is not traditional Chinese food. It’s Americanized.

MSG and Me

The Chinese food here in America that we all know and love is loaded with MSG.
Yes, that’s right. It offers no nutritional value, and can be very unhealthy in large
doses. Which is what turned me off to eating at my favorite Asian restaurant
every day for lunch.

Less Meat, More Vegetables

Traditional Chinese food offers a variety of different vegetables for you to
enjoy. Much more vegetables than Americanized Chinese food would offer.
They also use a wider variety of meats as well. No, not dog or cat. Traditional
Chinese uses meats like snake, chicken, beef, pork, duck, rabbit, and frog.
Many of which can not be found in the US.

Fried, Fried, Fried

One of the biggest reasons Americanized Chinese food is so unhealthy
is because most of it is fried. To be honest pretty much all of it is fried.
Most regions in China don’t ever taste fried foods. So why do we do it?
Because it tastes better. Chinese food is loaded up with MSG, salt,
sugar, etc. Do we really need to fry it? I would prefer to save my
heart attack for when I’m farther down the road. Much farther, actually.

So do you still claim to eat traditional Chinese food?
