If you’ve ever had a cold sore, the virus that causes them will remain dormant in your system forever, until something triggers a cold sore outbreak. Here’s how to minimize the outbreaks and treat a cold sore when you do have one.
You must have heard of sores and cold sores, which are usually filled with fluid. These types of lesions are usually found on the lips or near the mouth of a person familiar with the cold sores. The wounds usually disappear after a few days, but it may be repeated, if not addressed properly, because the immune system cannot really get rid of the oral herpes virus.

Though the virus can affect people at any age and any time of the year, almost 90% are affected by the virus by adulthood.
