Key Points –
*used ‘the’ affair, not ‘this’ affair because the affair of life ends when you are buried within the earth (under the sole of your shoe)
*play on sole/soul.
*the heaven you enter has white and pale clouds. Just like the smoke you emit.
*Nicko Tinn is nicotine.
* “Leastwise meet the eyes,
Of the phantom you exhale” because chain smokers never look at the smoke they exhale.
This is a poem that decribes the pain of losing someone dear. Even in the loss there is still a peace in knowing that the person who is deceased still lives in our memories if we will but continue to remember that person and not focus upon our loss.
I for once don’t know what to say here. I’m at a loss for words. This is for my mother who is very ill. I guess this is just my way of letting her know that I have always noticed, never forgotten and have, do and will always remember. I love you mama…
