Yet just as many sources state that the majority of Americans and Europeans, particularly the Germans and Italians, are only consuming about 50% of the recommended intake of potassium. I try to keep tabs on my nutritional intake on a pretty regular basis, and if I don’t plan my meals, I consistently come up short on potassium. Based on my own personal experience, I feel pretty confident that the 2nd statement is much closer to the truth.
