<p>All these snacks can be very delicious and savory, but are you making the right decision by eating these snacks? Instead of eating these snacks, eat healthy food such as fruits, meat, cereal, bread and many others. Do you want to know why these types of snacks are unhealthy? <p>All of these foods contain Monosodium glutamate; a food additive that enhances the flavor of foods. We don&rsquo;t really know how it affects our system, that&rsquo;s why we need to be careful with snacks. You know those preservatives; those are the ingredients keeping the food &lsquo;fresh&rsquo;. With color ingredients that create the color of the snacks, those are artificial. You know how it says in the ingredients list: Other flavorings, umm&hellip; No one knows what on earth those are.</p>
<p>Why buy something you don&rsquo;t know what&rsquo;s made from, while instead you could cook up the same thing but healthier? These kinds of foods can be very addictive, so you should be careful when deciding if you should buy one at a nearby super market, or cook one up yourself.</p>
<p>I don&rsquo;t think those snacks are handmade; if they are they would need a mass number of workers working their hands to death, by trying to put some flavor in someone else&rsquo;s mouth. I really think they use machines when making these kinds of snacks. Who knows if the machine has rusts, bacteria, unknown substances, and workers touch them too? Who knows?</p>

<h3>Limitations of Conventional Medical Approaches</h3>
<p>My wife herself is a victim of cancer and once in a while she had to undergo radiation treatment, surgery and all those conventional medical interventions to keep her healthy (?). We realized after some time that there are many alternatives to fight cancer and those alternatives are more than effective and less intrusive than the conventional ones.</p>
<h3>The Importance of Nutrition and Lifestyle</h3>
<p>The studies and testimonies that I encountered emphasized the importance of nutrition as well as lifestyle. It is at these aspects where major changes should be made. We stopped radiation treatment because it always weakens her every time she undergoes treatment. Besides, the doctor said the dosage of radiation he gave before was too high. He himself admitted that in a new conference he attended, too much radiation could make the bones brittle, thus, would be detrimental to the patient.</p>
<p>We made radical changes in what we eat and how we live our life. It had been 12 years since we did and she&#8217;s still as strong as anybody can be (See my previous article <a href="http://www.authspot.com/Journals/My-Love-My-Life-and-Cancer.102292" target="_blank">Cancer Can be Conquered</a>)</p>
<p>Here are things we avoided and things we did that somehow had some wisdom in it as new research findings affirm through the links I provided.</p>

<p>Prayer works wonders we never expect. Believing in one True God can wash away all your worries.</li>

<p> We changed our outlook in life and look at it positively. We engaged in fellowships, became more active in church work and studied the bible more and learn from its prescriptions for a better life. This actually changed our life profoundly.</li>

<p>It&#8217;s better to eat them in <a href="http://doctors-say.com/142-raw-vegetables" target="_blank">raw form</a>.  I truly believed what my teachers in my earlier years stressed that we should eat more vegetables to gain more resistance against disease. Vegetables contain a lot of enzymes helpful in properly digesting the food that we eat.</li>

<p>If we exercise well enough as regularly as we could, we can avoid toxins building up in our bodies. A highly oxygenated environment prevents cancer cells from growing.</li>

<p> It does not only feed cancer cells but also increase your risk of heart disease. This is commonly used in processed foods (easy to find them on the ingredients as MSG when not spelled out) to heighten taste. </li>

<p>Of all of the many things in our environment that can trigger headaches, food and drink are perhaps the worst culprits. Foods and beverages containing caffeine, aspartame, amines, nitrates and M.S.G are known to be powerful triggers to headache pain. It is important to read food labels and know what you are eating.</p>
<h3>M.S.G. (Monosodium Glutamate)</h3>
</p>
<p>M.S.G is a flavor enhancer that is added to many processed and packaged foods. The effects of MSG are thought to be caused by a buildup of MSG in the bloodstream as the result of an inability to properly digest it. This causes painful thumping in the temples as well as tightness in the forehead.</p>
<h4>Where it is found:</h4>
</p>
<p>Canned or instant soup, some packaged seasonings, processed meat, instant gravy mix, Chinese food (both packaged and restaurant) some corn snacks , potato chips and packaged tenderizers .</p>

<h3>Nitrates</h3>
</p>
<p>Nitrates are used to preserve meats and to give them a nice red color. For people sensitive to them, nitrates, cause an inordinate expansion of the blood vessels on the surface of the brain.</p>
<h4>Where it is found:</h4>

<p>Hot dogs, corned beef, bologna, bacon, smoked fish, salami, pepperoni</p>

<h3>Amines</h3>
<p>Amines are biological substances produced by the body but are also found in many foods. Amines play a role in headaches by affecting the expansion and contraction of blood vessels.</p>
<p><strong>Where it is found:</strong></p>
<p>Organ meat, foods containing vinegar, figs, beans like lima &amp; kidney, raisins, avocado, onions, chocolate, alcoholic drinks, cheese (except cottage &amp; cream cheese)</p>

<h3>Caffeine</h3>
</p>
<p>Caffeine causes headaches by causing blood vessels on the surface of the brain to constrict. When the effects of the caffeine start to wear off, the blood vessels begin to expand and this causes pain in those sensitive to its effects.</p>
<p><strong>Where it is found:</strong></p>
<p>Coffee, tea, cocoa, cola and other soft drinks</p>

<h3>Aspartame</h3>
</p>
<p>Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that acts much the same as caffeine.</p>
<p><strong>Where it is found:</strong></p>
<p>Equal and Nutrasweet , diet soft drinks, low calorie desserts, and some chewing gum</p>

<p>Although removing any or all of these kinds of foods from your diet may help to prevent headache pain, it doesn`t stop there. It is also important that you do not skip meals. Depriving your body of food for too long can cause blood sugar levels to drop too low. When this happens the blood vessels responsible for moving glucose to the brain begin to constrict in their attempt to get the blood to the brain faster, and this causes pain.</p>
<p>Tip: For those who get frequent headaches shortly after waking in the morning, it is a good idea to have a nutritious snack before bed. Snacks high in protein could help. Try some cottage cheese, milk or a half of a turkey sandwich. Morning headaches are often the result of blood sugar levels dropping too low over night.</p>
