People need sleep as they need food, water, and air; yet there are times when going to sleep becomes difficult. While healthy adults need eight hours of sleep a day, people need less sleep as they grow older. Seniors however, tend to nap a bit more frequently during the day. Sleeping about five to eight hours every day is necessary to give the body rest and energy to face the day. The quality of sleep will depend on a person’s daily routine, sleep schedule and day-to-day lifestyle choices.
